South Africa is responsible for publishing and maintaining 16 sheets of this world-wide chart series covering the southern part of Africa. This series has accurate but generalised base maps with only the most important topographical detail shown to enable the overprinted aeronautical information to be clearly legible. Each sheet covers an area of 4 degrees in latitude and 6 degrees in longitude with a north and east overlap of 15 minutes.
The International Civil Aviation Organisation prescribes the rules and regulations regarding aeronautical information shown on these charts such as navigational aids, air routes, etc.
Projection : Lambert Conformal Conic with two standard parallels.
